Japan 2019 - Shikoku (part 2)

Before riding back to the coast, we came through Kotohira, which is famous for Kompirasan, a seafarer shrine, and the historical Kanamaruza kabuki theatre, built in 1835. Unfortunately, performances are only held in spring, but visiting the amazing building was still worth it. Four people sit on cushions in each square - not much room for long legs!

The mountains, forests and rural areas around Kotohira are gorgeous!

Once back on the coast, the landscape turned into industrial areas, major shipping ports, factories and busy roads with large trucks. Not very pleasant for cyclists.

Japan has the same problem with plastic as every other country!

  1. Do you have to wear the face masks often? The rural areas don't look they are needed as very green so I guess maybe just the more urban areas.
