Blue Mountains

Unfortunately we had to post-pone our travels from 2013 to 2014. Kirsten needs to be in Sydney for family reasons. So we decided to get away for a short 4WD and camping trip. There is so much to do and so many places we haven't seen right at our doorstep!

Below is the lost city in the Wollemi National Park, a cluster of Pagoda Rocks. I don't know if it's called the "lost city" because it looks like ancient temples or because it is so hard to find!!

We camped at Dunn's Swamp, which sounds awful but is gorgeous! The "lake" is man-made due to a weir for a cement factory, which was built in the 1920s. Nature has taken over since then and created a beautiful wetland with many water birds. The camping area is huge and fantastic for families: rock climbing, kayaking, bush walking, swimming, etc. It even contains picnic tables, a boat ramp and a swimming area.

Of course we had to scramble to the top!
